Honouring and Remembering British Police Officers who Lost their Lives in the Line of Duty

Formed on 1 April 2013 by the amalgamation of

the former Scottish Police Services of

Central Scotland Police, Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary,

Fife Constabulary, Grampian Police, Lothian and Borders Police,

Northern Constabulary, Strathclyde Police, Tayside Police

Captain David Traill, 51

Died 29 November 2013

The two police crew and their pilot died, together with a number of persons on the ground, when their police service helicopter crashed into a public house in Glasgow.


PC Mark Murtagh

Died 16 May 2014

Died whilst travelling to work when his motorcycle was in collision with a bus.


PC Douglas Wiggins

Died 3 May 2016

Collapsed attending a late night emergency call and died in hospital.


PC Roy Buggins

Died 3 September 2019

Collapsed and died whilst in attendance at an incident in Montrose, Angus.
