Died 8 July 1929 aged 31

Constable 6 Hoult was on foot patrol at Avonmouth Docks, Bristol, when
the rear wall of Transit Shed No. 1 collapsed on top of him and he was killed.

John was buried at Shirehampton Cemetery.

He was a married man and had served with the force for 6 years.

John is the only member of the force known to have lost his life on duty.
